Daria was renting a room with her husband and child. While everything seemed pretty tight, they were well. However, this all changed when Daria’s husband abruptly left her and their child. There was no explanation and she was left alone with her child. She couldn’t afford to pay the rent, and realized she had to quickly make a decision to find proper housing for her child. She had no family here, other than an estranged sister. She decided to seek help from PATH and was placed at Wallis House. Her child is still very young to understand everything that has happened. Daria has found mental health help for herself, and hopes to place her daughter as well as she grows older. Meantime, she is working on finding stability and is very thankful to have the opportunity to be at Wallis House.
