The family lost their home and all of their belongings due to being practically left off to the streets with her kids. The mother sought refuge in shelters across LA, and has then moved from shelter to shelter. Unfortunately, this has caused lots of trauma to her kids, as well as her own. In the other shelters the family was in, they lost all of their belongings as well, so they are starting from scratch with what they have. No other shelter has felt safe, but Aviva has been their refuge since they arrived. Her kids are receiving mental help and slowly, the mother is beginning to seek help for herself. She is a very selfless mother and puts her kids first.
