The family was experiencing domestic violence for a very long time. This became a pattern and mother admits, it was very scary to finally leave. Once she did, she received little to no support from family. Mother had no other choice but to leave and seek help elsewhere. It seemed as though she couldn’t find the stability she needed for her kids, and was left to live in her car with her 3 children. After moving to the Wallis House, she got a stable job and now has EHV. She receives food assistance which is very helpful for her and her kids, and is slowly finding hope in life once again.
