The family is fleeing from Ukraine. They arrived to Wallis House after seeking refuge in multiple friends homes, nevertheless, the mother’s status prevented her from finding a job. The mother’s safest choice was to move to America but with no help it led to her, and her kids bouncing around from unfamiliar places. When they all first arrived to Walis House, they seemed very scared and kept to themselves. They felt not only scared from having to leave the only place they knew as home, but also having to come to a new country with no support and a language barrier. Currently, they are all learning English and mom is working on her paperwork. She has learned enough English, as well as her kids, and feels much safer and at peace in Wallis House.
