The Vega family was living in dangerous and abusive circumstances and had no support system from anybody. The mother left the abusive relationship and with no support ended up on the streets, homeless. She was able to get help from PATH; People Assisting the Homeless and was placed at Wallis House. The resident now is trying to rebuild her life from the ground up, while providing a safe network for her child. It hasn’t been easy, and the traumas from the abuse have caused her plenty of difficulty readjusting. Nevertheless, she is working very diligently to find stability.
